KPK Searches House Allegedly Places Former Head Of Makassar Customs And Excise To Hide Assets

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched a house in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta today, Monday, June 12. The search was related to a case of gratification and money laundering (TPPU) that ensnared the former Head of Makassar Customs andhi Pramono.

"We conducted a search in the Kelapa Gading area, a housing estate occupied by parties related to this case," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, June 12.

Ali did not specify the party occupying the house. However, investigators suspect that the place was used by Andhi to hide his assets.

This allegation is reinforced by the findings obtained during the search. "We have found documents related to the asset," he said.

The available evidence will later be confirmed to a number of parties before being confiscated. "To ensure that the assets in question have something to do with (the case, red) corruption (Andhi Pramono, ed)," said Ali.

As previously reported, Andhi has been named a suspect in the alleged receipt of gratuities. This determination began after the public highlighted his assets, the KPK made a clarification.

In investigating the allegation, investigators conducted searches in a number of places. One of them, at Andhi's father-in-law's house and a shophouse in Batam.

As a result, three luxury Hummer, Toyota Roadster and Mini Morris cars were found there. Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said Andhi allegedly hid the assets of receiving gratuities at his father-in-law's house.

"We did the search because we suspected that the assets from AP (Andhi Pramono) were stored in Batam, if I'm not mistaken, it would be. His in-laws live there," he told reporters, Wednesday, June 7 night.

Then, the anti-corruption commission named Andhi as a suspect in alleged money laundering. He is suspected of hiding assets originating from the receipts made.
