JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko assured the public that the Draft Law on the Health of the Omnibus Law was made proportionally and did not intend to reduce the role of one party for another.
He conveyed this when he met representatives of 23 health worker organizations who came to the Bina Graha Building in Jakarta, Monday, June 12 to voice their aspirations for their support for the Health Bill.
"Thank you for your support for the Health Bill. This bill actually places all parties including professional organizations in a proportional position. We also hope that the scope of this bill will be wider, which may not be touched yet, hopefully it can be discussed later," said Moeldoko, June 12.
"Now that DIM has been discussed, but if there is still urgent input, it could be pushed to Commission IX of the DPR. So that what health workers want can be accommodated properly," he added.
The Presidential Chief of Staff also appreciated the groups of health worker organizations who also contributed their aspirations related to the Health Bill. This means that the community is also a pressure group that plays an active role in influencing national policy making.
According to him, KSP is the last complaint gate for people who want to voice their opinions, complaints or even criticism of the government. Therefore, KSP openly receives input from health worker organizations as well as from all parties related to the Omnibus Law Health Bill.
Meanwhile, the 23 health worker organizations in question consist of midwives, nurses, pharmacists, college academics and so on. They show their support for accelerating the ratification of the Omnibus Law Health Bill because the bill is considered in line with the transformation of the Indonesian health system which aims to provide access and quality health service facilities for the community.

They also hope that the Health Bill can replace Law No. 29 of 2004 concerning Medical Practices which are considered to give excessive authority to only one professional organization that actually hinders government health programs for the community due to conflicts of interest.
"In essence, we hope that the government and the DPR will continue to ratify the bill into a Health Law. The rejection of the Health Bill is only from a group of administrators of professional organizations. The majority of members, namely health professionals at the grassroots, receive and even be happy with the concept of the Health Bill where in the future it is hoped that there will be a simplification of the administrative requirements for practice," said Merry Patrinilla, a representative of the pharmacist organization from Mojokerto, East Java.
