Gerindra Yakin Jokowi Dukung Prabowo

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of Gerindra Habiburokhman believes that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will support Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

"If I say it's definitely yes," said Habiburokhman, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.

According to him, Jokowi's form of support for Prabowo can be seen from his political gestures. Meanwhile, President Jokowi had mentioned that Indonesia needed a leader who dared to defend the interests of the nation and state.

"Yes, the political gesture," he said.

This is what makes Habiburokhman very sure that the figure referred to by President Jokowi is Prabowo Subianto.

"The statement is that we need a national leader who dares to defend the interests of the nation and state. That is clearly the direction (to Prabowo Subianto)," he explained.

Meanwhile, Habiburokhman admitted that he had no problem with President Joko Widodo's attitude in interfering in politics, especially ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.

"Yes, as long as he does not follow policies that are profitable or detrimental to one of the pairs of candidates. That is clear in the election law," said Habiburokhman.

He considered it appropriate for Jokowi to be careless in a positive context, such as taking part in controlling campaign rules and other rules related to the 2024 General Election.

"We agree, it is very appropriate what Mr. Jokowi said. We as Indonesians, all of them have to be fussy. As a moral call, especially since he is the president. So, these rumors are in a positive context," he added.

He emphasized that he did not object to Jokowi's reckless attitude as long as it did not harm certain parties. However, until now there has been no prospective presidential candidate (candidate) and a potential vice presidential candidate (cawapres).

Habiburokhman sees the meaning of cawe-cawe as helping. Therefore, Jokowi is expected not to let go of his hands in the 2024 presidential election contestation.
