TNI Commander Jamu ASEAN State Military Chief Before ACDFM In Bali

DENPASAR - TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono welcomed the top military officials of ASEAN member countries in a dinner event, before a series of ASEAN Chief of Defense Forces Meetings (ACDFM) meetings at Apurva Kempinski, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali.

Yudo Margono accompanied by the wife of Vero Yudo Margonobe and top ASEAN military officials seemed to be compact wearing traditional clothes made of endek cloth. The arrival of the ASEAN military officials was greeted with a traditional Bali dance combined with a Bali gamelan.

ACDFMke-20 will be held on Wednesday (7/6) at the Ballroom Temple, Apurva Kempinski Hotel, Bali. Yudo Margonopun first hosted guests at a dinner at the meeting place for the delegation of the G20 Summit in November 2022.

The military commander of ASEAN member countries whose presence has been confirmed in ACDFMke-20 includes the Commander of the Malaysian Armed Forces Chief of Defense Force General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hj Affedi Bin Disposing of RMAF, Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines General Andres C. Centino PA.

Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato of the Hajj Series Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Singapore Chief of Defense Force RADM Aaron Beng, top Thai military officer Chief of Defense Forces General Chalermphon Srisawadi, and Commander-in-Chief Royal Cambodian Armed Forces High Command Headquarters General Vong Pisen.

In addition, there were also the Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of General Staff Department Laos People's Army LT. Gen Khamlieng Outhakaisone, Chief of Staff of Falintil Forca Defesa De Timor Leste Commodore Donaciano Costa Gomes, and TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono as the host. Meanwhile, Myanmar's country was represented by the Myanmar Defense Attache for Indonesia Brigadier General Phyo Zaw Soe DA.

The joint dinner ended by singing several old Indonesian songs and dancing together. A group of high-ranking military officials was seen starting to leave the banquet at around 21.20 WITA.

ACDFM is an annual meeting of armed forces commanders from ASEAN member countries. The meeting discussed various strategic security issues in the region both regionally and globally. This year, the TNI has the turn to host a meeting of top military ASEAN member countries.

"The activity that we will carry out tomorrow is a form of cooperation that has made it better. Every year, we hold meetings like this and coincidentally we, Indonesia, in this case the TNI, become the host," said Yudo Margono.

Yudo said there were several things that would be discussed at the meeting, such as monitoring and securing the ASEAN area and establishing cooperation in the field of joint training.

"So far, it has been well established, among others, is to run joint training programs, patrol areas, exchange of officers in the context of schools starting at the young level until they go to Sesko TNI schools; so that whoever becomes the leader can protect this ASEAN," he said.

He also expressed his thoughts regarding joint training between all ASEAN member countries' militaries.

"I myself in the ASEAN Chief of Defense Forces Meeting have the idea to hold joint training. So far we have never carried out it, always between countries," said Yudo Margono.
