Surabaya City Government Frees Stan Pasar Turi's Retribution Up To 10 Years

SURABAYA - Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) asked the manager of Pasar Turi Baru, PT Gala Bumi Perkasa, to ease the burden on traders by exempting the levy of the right to use booth (BHPS) with an extension stamp of up to 10 years. "I ask for help from the ranks of PT Gala Bumi Perkasa, the booth book will be given immediately," said Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi in a written statement in Surabaya, East Java, Antara, Friday, June 2. Cak Eri explained that for the sake of traders at Pasar Turi Baru to return to selling, they also had time to ask for opinions from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the East Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati), and the Surabaya District Attorney's Office (Kejari). "Kalau tidak dimulai dari sekarang terus kapan dibuka kembali? Jangan sampai nanti pemkot memberikan perpanjangan selama 10 tahun tidak ada dasarnya," kata Cak Eri. Cak Eri hopes that traders who are still not open today are advised to start opening their stalls until 00.00 WIB. Not only that, Cak Eri also asked PT Gala Bumi Perkasa to immediately complete the process of extending the BHPS book for 10 years no later than 12 June. General Manager of PT Gala Bumi Perkasa Teddy Supriyadi said the authority to extend BHPS was fully carried out by the local municipal government, while his party did not have the power to implement the BHPS extension policy to traders in Pasar Turi Baru. Teddy said PT Gala Bumi Perkasa was mandated by the city government to supervise which traders consistently support enlivening the booth at Pasar Turi Baru. Teddy added that currently there are 6,000 booths in Pasar Turi Baru and around 4,000 have been sold. Meanwhile, those that have started opening on May 31, 2023, are around 1,300 more.

"We checked, we were absent, it turned out that oh yes, this is really open consistently, and supports enlivening Pasar Turi Baru. So for a year we have to be consistent in open continuously," he also said.
