Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Lusiana Herawati, said that this year's entertainment tax revenue has the potential to increase 100 percent compared to last year. This is thanks to the implementation of a number of international musicians concerts held in the capital, ranging from Blackpink, Westlife, Arctic Monkeys, to Red Velvet. In the future, a number of international music concerts will also be held again by signing Coldplay, Mr. Big, to NIKI. "Indeed, for this year, it seems that the peak is after 2019, 2020, 2021, then 2022. (Income increase) may be 100 percent of the incidental (concery activity). Right, there is Coldplay, there is also a lot of agenda until the end of the year. That's all they have reported to Bapenda," Lusi told reporters, Wednesday, May 31. However, Lusi admitted that he had not calculated the exact value of the income that could enter the regional treasury from the concerts. However, Lusi said that entertainment tax revenue last year was around hundreds of billions of rupiah. What is clear is that the entertainment tax revenue from concert events is quite large. In Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 3 of 2015 concerning Entertainment Taxes, it is stated that tax rates for international-class arts, music, dance, and clothing performances are subject to 15 percent. The imposition of a 15 percent tax was widely complained by people who bought tickets to watch Coldplay concerts.

"15 percent is in accordance with the regional regulation. Anyway, if an international artist comes from outside, it will depend on the ticket. If the ticket is expensive, the tax is still 15 percent of the ticket price. If the cost is cheap, the tax must also be smaller, right," he explained.
