Government Prepares IDR 14.9 Trillion To Repair Roads In Lampung To North Sumatra

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said funding to repair roads in a number of areas in the country was being prepared. Talks with the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) have been held.

"So this May, I met the Minister of Finance at the BPK yesterday during the meeting, this May we will complete the budgeting documents," Basuki told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, May 25.

This budget will later be distributed to build roads in Lampung, Jambi, and North Sumatra. This effort was carried out in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to accelerate the handling of regional roads.

Basuki explained that the budget was issued divided into several stages. "First there is Rp. 14.9 trillion, including for the Lampung, Jambi, and North Sumatra," said Basuki.

Furthermore, the auction process for goods and services will be carried out in June 2023. This stage will depend on the classification of the project.

"Whether through a general auction or through e-catalog, it depends on the classification. Below 100 it is usually with e-catalog to make it faster," said Basuki.

The government targets road construction to start no later than early July 2023. Basuki said that the segments that had been built first would still use the regional budget.

"So what happened in Lampung maybe it was done by the APBD. So like in Jambi, there are also things that have been done by the APBD. In North Sumatra, North Labuan Batu has also been done in part of 13 kilometers by the APBD," he explained.

To expedite the development, the central government ensures that it will strengthen coordination with the regions. Basuki hopes that the work will run smoothly.
