PDIP Reveals The Name Of The Vice Presidential Candidate Ganjar Pranowo Announced In The Month Of Karno

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto revealed that the name of the prospective vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Ganjar Pranowo will be announced during the Bung Karno month celebration in June 2023.

"Mrs. Mega said there were 10 names, so from there it took time and in June the PDI-P will hold a Bung Karno month commemoration which peaked on June 24," said Hasto at the Lemhannas building, Central Jakarta, Saturday, May 20.

Even so, until now his party is still mapping until dynamical analysis. For this reason, the existing 10 names are the maximum possible process in order to get the best companion for Ganjar Pranowo.

"Given the decision from the general election stage (election), the General Election Commission (KPU) in October, of course, it is hoped that the right momentum will have been determined by the vice presidential candidate," he said.

On the other hand, Hasto did not know the names of the 10 vice presidential candidates that had not been submitted to the public. He also did not want to mention in more detail about the ten vice presidential candidates, because whoever the elected vice presidential candidate is the best person.

"There are 10, basically the best who will accompany Pak Ganjar Pranowo," he added.

Previously, PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri pocketed 10 candidates for vice president (cawapres) who would be elected to pair with Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

However, Megawati still needs time to stay in contact before determining the right name to accompany Ganjar as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"This train I have a lot of people who want to get on. So just wait. It's a lot, I have 10 here or what, it will be narrowed by my own mind," said the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan during a press conference after the PDIP and PPP meetings at the PDI-P DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday (30/4).

Megawati explained that she also took quite a long contemplation before officially announcing Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate from PDIP.

"But maybe if it's for example tomorrow. I'll do the calculations first. When I was in Batu, there was a term for contemplation. Later, I might think about it first, contemplation again, but my goal is Indonesia Raya," said Megawati.

He could not confirm that Ganjar's pair would come from PPP or the Nahdlatul Ulama group, even though Megawati had been accompanied by Hamzah Haz who served as Deputy President of 2001-2004 and paired with KH Hasyim Muzadi in the 2004 presidential election.
