Cak Imin Says PKB, Gerindra, And Golkar Will Form A New Coalition

Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin said his party would form a new coalition with the Golkar Party and Gerindra.

"Yes, a new coalition, if you have joined three, it means new. Yes, if you join three, it's new," said Cak Imin, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.

According to Cak Imin, with the union of these three parties, a stronger coalition will be created.

"Yes, the main thing is to unite, the coalition will automatically become stronger," said Cak Imin.

In addition to the three parties, continued Cak Imin, there will be a non-parliamentary political party (particle) that joins the new coalition. "It's the same with non-parliamentary parties. It's starting to get intensive," he said.

However, Cak Imin did not reveal who the non-parlementary party was. He only gave the party code to be identical to red.

"The color is red. It means red PDIP," he joked.

Meanwhile, PKB and Gerindra have joined the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR). On the other hand, Golkar together with the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the United Development Party (PPP) partnered in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).

Golkar and PKB in a meeting between the two political parties in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/5) also agreed to build a core coalition as a form of follow-up to the discourse on forming a major coalition.
