Check TNI Troops Will Be On Duty To Papua, Army Chief Of Staff Visits Bone, South Sulawesi

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman checked the readiness of troops to be dispatched to Papua by making a working visit at the 726th Infantry Battalion/Tamalatea Headquarters in Bone, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), Tuesday 9 May.

At the Battalion 726/Tamalatea Headquarters, Dudung met directly with the soldiers and gave directions to those who will serve on Earth of Cendrawasih for the next few months.

"Departing duties must have sincere intentions. Don't have a bad mind. Pray again from your duties in a safe and successful condition," Dudung told the soldiers as quoted from a written statement, Tuesday, May 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

In his direction, Dudung reminded the soldiers to try to understand the development of the situation at the assignment site and be aware of the existing changes. He also asked the soldiers' wives to pray for their partners, so that they can complete their duties smoothly.

"I advise mothers, pray that their husbands can carry out their duties smoothly and safely," he said.

Dudung together with the main officials of the TNI AD Headquarters and the XIV/Hasanuddin Military Commander Maj. Gen. Totok Imam Santoso, Monday, May 8, checked the readiness of troops at the Raider 433/Julu Siri Infantry Battalion Headquarters in Maros, South Sulawesi.

He asked the soldiers not to violate the rules while on duty and always be vigilant. Dudung also asked the unit commander (dansat) to prepare troops and all task equipment properly.

If there is additional equipment, Dudung ordered his staff to immediately submit it to their superiors.

"No equipment is supported by its own efforts. I will file it later," said Dudung in Maros, South Sulawesi, Monday, May 8.

The Raider 433/Julu Siri Infantry Battalion and the 726/Tamalatea Infantry Battalion were dispatched to Papua to replace soldiers who had served for one year or more there.

The assignment is a follow-up to the order of the TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono, regarding the rotation of troops in Papua.
