Cartenz Peace Task Force Chases 6 Murderers In Dekai Member Of The Yahukimo KKB

PAPUA - The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force is pursuing six of the nine perpetrators of the murder of two residents on Jalan Statistican Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Province.

Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force 2023 Kombes Pol Faizal Ramadhani said his party had pocketed the identities of the six perpetrators who were still in pursuit. Three other perpetrators were arrested on Thursday, May 4.

"The nine perpetrators are members of the Yahukimo KKB. The six people who are still on the hunt have the initials EP, AS, YS, YH, and YY. Meanwhile, the three perpetrators who have been arrested are YS alias JS, EDS, and NM," Faizal said in a press statement, Friday, May 5, confiscated by Antara.

The perpetrators have been named as suspects in the murder of two immigrants from Toraja, named Yonatan Arfuan and Asri Obet on Sunday, April 30.

As for the roles of the suspects, said Faizal, NM played a role in stabbing victim Asri Obet with a knife, then the suspect ES stabbed the victim Yonatan Arruan, and YS alias JS and EDS stabbed Yonatan using a machete.

"The other five suspects, namely YH, YHE, YS, AS, and EP, did not participate in the murder. However, they participated in the video statement that they had carried out the action uploaded on social media," said Faizal.

Faizal, who is also the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Direskrimum) of the Papua Police, said that his party continues to pursue the six members of the Yahukimo armed criminal group (KKB).

For the three suspects who have been arrested, he said, strict legal proceedings were carried out. In this case, his party conducts an in-depth examination.

"We will carry out reconstruction to provide an overview of the case," said Faizal.

A joint team from the Yahukimo Police and the Cartenz Peace Task Force 2023, Thursday, May 4, carried out a raid on a house suspected of hiding an armed criminal group (KKB).

The raid on Jalan Paradiso was behind the Anggruk complex, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ignatius Benny Prabowo in Jayapura, Thursday, said that the raids at 03.00 WIT, then secured nine people who were inside.

During the raid, officers also secured evidence in the form of a number of personal documents, electronic devices, sharp weapons in the form of arrows, axes, machetes, knives, scissors, air rifles, and tools as well as one homemade weapon.

The murder of Asri Obet and Yonatan Arruan took place on April 30 thanks to reports from local residents. This criminal group raided the houses of the victims of Yonatan and Asri on Jalan Statik Dekai, Yahukimo.

Police and the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force found that the victim Yonatan, who was a private worker, was dead behind the house. Meanwhile, victim Asri Obet, who is a farmer, was found dead in a garden behind the house.
