Disdukcapil Finds 194 Thousand NIK DKI Residents Living Outside The Region

Head of the DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil) Budi Awaluddin said that so far 194,000 residents with Jakarta NIK have found them but no longer live in DKI Jakarta.

"Our initial data is currently 194,000, this is still valid data, just need to be verified again. However, we continue to socialize, this data can be reduced or increased later," Budi said at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.

Budi said he would coordinate with RT and RW to verify the data of residents living in the capital city.

"We have collaborated with RT and RW to verify," said Budi.

The deactivation of ID cards for residents who are no longer domiciled in Jakarta is to regulate population administration.

"To control population administration and so that data is accurate, policy formulation will be more accurate, later we will not be wrongly targeted to provide subsidies to the community," explained Budi.

The plan is that Disdukcapil will disable the population identification number (NIK) of DKI Jakarta residents for residents who no longer live in the capital city in March 2024.

"The temporary deactivator of the NIK, what will be the impact? When making transactions, such as banking, Samsat, paying taxes, paying BPJS later there will be a kind of notification that you have to go to the Dukcapil Service so that's how it is," said Budi.

Even though the ID card ID card is deactivated, said Budi, the residents' data will still be stored. Residents must contact Dukcapil if they want to reactivate their NIK.
