Golkar-PKB Agree On Coalition, Invite Democrats To Join Later Tonight?

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto and Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin agreed that their party would be at the core of a major coalition. Golkar and PKB will also be drivers to explore communication with other political parties.

"Today we will encourage Golkar and PKB to become the core coalition," said Airlangga at a press conference in Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 3. Regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidates, Airlangga said, it will be discussed with the political parties who are members. "The vice presidential candidate is still in the process of being discussed," he said.

Airlangga then mentioned the plan to meet Cak Imin with the Chairman of the Upper House of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Cikeas, tonight.

He supported the PKB and Democrat meetings. Airlangga also emphasized that communication between political parties will continue to be carried out in order to create a large coalition.

"Kita tahu Pak Imin nanti malam akan bertemu partai besar. Masing-masing akan terus bergerak dan berkomunikasi dengan partai lain, tetapi intinya Golkar dan PKB," kata Airlangga. Diketahui, Ketua Umum PKB Muhaimin Iskandar atau Cak Imin bakal mengunjungi Ketua Majelis Demokrat Demokrat Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) di Cikeas, Bogor, Jawa Barat, malam nanti.
