File Completed, Corruption Suspect Court At DLH South OKU Immediately Held

The team of investigating prosecutors at the South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District Attorney's Office, South Sumatra, handed over the files of two suspects in the alleged corruption case in the waste management budget at the local district environment service for the 2019-2021 fiscal year to the Palembang District Court and the court immediately.

"Earlier, the file was received by the Palembang District Court officers, just waiting for the schedule for the inaugural trial," said Head of the Special Crimes Section of the South OKU Kejari Julia Rahman as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 3.

He explained that the two suspects were US who was the former Head of the South OKU and HIS DLH Service (Beharana DLH OKU Selatan).

Based on the prosecutor's investigation, in this case, it was found that the two suspects were involved in cutting the budget in the field of South OKU DLH waste management for three consecutive years.

Each waste management budget allocation from 2019 to 2021 is allegedly cut by the suspect by around 10 to 20 percent or reaching Rp1 billion per year based on the adequacy of evidence obtained by investigators from the South OKU District Attorney.

For the actions of the suspect, said Julia, the South OKU Prosecutor's investigating prosecutor charged Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 2019 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
