President Director Of PT Waskita Karya Destiawan Soewardjono Becomes Suspect Of Alleged Corruption

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named the President Director of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Destiawan Soewardjono as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of irregularities or the use of PT Waskita Beton Precast funds for the 2016-2020 period. Thus, there are already 9 suspects in the case.

"JamPidsus has determined and detained 1 suspect in connection with the alleged corruption case in irregularities in the use of financing facilities from several banks carried out by PT Waskita Karya and PT Waskita Beton Precast," said the Head of the AGO Ketut Sumedana in his statement, Saturday, April 29.

Destiawan was named a suspect for allegedly ordering and approving the disbursement of the Supply Chain Financing (SCF) funds using fake supporting documents.

Then, the funds were used to cover the company's debt caused by the payment of fictitious projects it made.

"Unlawfully ordering and approving the disbursement of Supply Chain Financing (SCF) funds by using false support documents, to be used as payment of company debts caused by disbursement of fictitious job projects to meet the suspect's request," he said.

Destiawan who served as President Director of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk for the period July 2020 until now has been detained for 20 days since Friday, April 28.

"To speed up the investigation process, the suspect DES was detained at the Salemba State Detention Center (Rutan) at the Attorney General's Office for 20 days starting from April 28, 2023 to May 17, 2023," he explained.

For his actions, the suspect is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

For information, in this case there are 8 people who have been named as suspects. They include the Marketing Director of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk for the 2016-2020 period, Agus Wantoro.

Then, General Manager of Marketing of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk for the 2016-August 2020 period, Agus Prihatmono; Expert Staff (expert) of PT Waskita Beton Precast, Benny Prastowo; retired employee of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk, Anugrianto;

Then, President Director of PT Misi Mulia Metrical, Hasnaeni; retired BUMN Employee of PT Waskita Beton Precast, KJH, former President Director of PT Waskita Beton Precast, Jarot Subana; and President Director of PT Arka Jaya Mandiri (AJM) with the initials HA.
