Fortuner Deadly Collision And Open Car In East Aceh: 5 Dead, Dozens Injured

EAST ACEH - East Aceh Police investigated an accident that claimed five lives and injured dozens and is now being treated at a local hospital. Head of the East Aceh Police Traffic Unit, Iptu Krisna Hadi Widyanto, said the accident occurred after an open tub Isuzu Panther collided with the Toyota Fortuner minibus. "This case is still under investigation. The two vehicles involved in the accident have been secured for further investigation," said Krisna in East Aceh, Antara, Thursday, April 27. Previously, a pickup truck Isuzu Panther brought a group of people collided with Toyota Fortuner, on the Sumatra highway, Alue Batee Village, Peudawa District, East Aceh Regency, Aceh, Wednesday at around 18.30 WIB. Five car victims, like open, died, namely Nalahuddin (48), Putri Mulya (5), Khairi Akmal (9), Mariani (53), and Neslawati (45). The five residents of Buket Pala Village, Peureulak District, East Aceh Regency. Meanwhile, 14 passengers of the pickup truck were injured, including two seriously injured and 12 lightly injured. The accident started when an open tub Isuzu Panther drove from Medan to Banda Aceh, while the Toyota Fortuner minibus drove from the opposite direction. Arriving at the scene of the incident, the concrete road, the pickup truck was too wide to the right side of the road, and at the same time from the opposite direction, the Toyota Fortuner minibus was traveling, so the two vehicles were involved in a collision. As a result of the incident, the driver of the Toyota Fortuner minibus suffered a broken right hand, while the driver of the pickup truck suffered injuries to his face, arms and legs.

"Now, all victims of the accident are being treated at the Zubir Mahmud Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Idi Rayeuk and a hospital in Peureulak, East Aceh Regency," said Krisna.
