Defeat Incumbent Qatar, Best Changi Singapore Airport In The World In 2023 Skytrax Version

JAKARTA - Changi Airport Singapore occupies the top position of the best airport in the world, beating last year's winner Hamad International Airport in Qatar, which was compiled based on the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey.

Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport, United Arab Emirates is ranked 17th. The world's busiest airport for international flights fell three places from last year's Skytrax ranking.

The Skytrax World Airport Award is the best known in the airport industry. The annual ranking is based on passenger experience at airports with travelers being asked to assess their travel elements, ranking everything from check-in services to airport facilities.

Changi Airport Singapore is no stranger to the top position on the Skytrax list. The hub was previously ranked at the top 12 times, but slumped from the top position during the global pandemic as the number of passengers entering and leaving Singapore shrank.

Home to waterfalls, giant trampolins, and glass canopy bridges, this green airport has the world's best airport hotel in 2023, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

Qatar is now the second best airport in the world, with Hamad International also winning awards as the cleanest and best airport in the Middle East, as well as the world's best airport for shopping.

This is a positive reflection of our strong airport operation and team dedication," said Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, chief operating officer at Hamad International Airport, reported by The National News April 16.

"In addition, this is a support for our investment in ensuring our passengers enjoy an extraordinary travel experience and in providing our partners with the best facilities and services."

Meanwhile, Japan has had a good fate in this year's Skytrax ranking, with the country's four main airports included in the list of the top 20, including Tokyo International, also known as Haneda, in third place. Favorite among passengers, it has also been named the world's best domestic airport, cleanest and best airport for accessibility.

Meanwhile, airports in Seoul, Paris, Istanbul, Munich, Zurich and Madrid complete the top 10 Skytrax versions of the airport.

Other airports in the Gulf region won individual awards at the Skytrax 2023 award. Bahrain International Airport won the best baggage delivery experience and was also ranked to have the best airport staff in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian Dammam was named the best regional airport.
