Keeping Holy Month Safe, South Jakarta Metro Police Thwarted A Brawl In Manggarai

JAKARTA- During the holy month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah, the South Jakarta Metro Police continues to increase night patrols in a number of crime-prone locations to maintain security and order.

"Every night we carry out routine operations to create conditions by determining routes from Block S, Wolter Monginsidi, Gunawarman, Senopati, SCBD, Blok M, to Kemang," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, April 1.

Added by Ade Ary, patrols at these locations aim to anticipate the potential for street crimes such as sarong wars, illegal racing, and other violations of the law.

Moreover, his party also appealed to owners of nightlife venues such as restaurants and cafes to comply with operating hours following the directives of the Governor's Regulation, namely closing at 00.00 WIB during the months of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

His party will also apply strictly to anyone who violates the rules that should be obeyed to create security.

"From patrols on Friday (31/3) evening, we secured 83 bottles of liquor in Kebayoran Lama, thwarted brawls at the Manggarai-Setiabudi-Tebet border, and prevented illegal racing on the Casablanca Tebet flyover," he continued.

In addition, other personnel has also helped a victim who survived a single traffic accident on Jalan Gatot Subroto Tebet by taking him to the nearest hospital for further treatment.

He added, as many as 380 personnel consisting of the ranks of the South Jakarta Metro Police, TNI, and South Jakarta Satpol PP were deployed to ensure the security and order situation remained under control.

In addition to patrolling to maintain security around the area, the South Jakarta Metro Police also distributes social assistance to the National Police when they find residents who are deemed to still need assistance.

"Hopefully we can tolerate each other and respect each other by obeying the rules of the existing government, of course, that will increase security in South Jakarta," he concluded.
