Turangga Train Hits Livestock Feed Transport Truck In Jombang

Turangga Train heading for Bandung - Surabaya Gubeng crashed into a cooperating truck loaded with animal feed that occurred at train crossing No 76 between Jombang Station - Sembung Station in Jatipelem, Diwek, Jombang Regency, East Java, Thursday 30 March.

Although it did not cause any casualties, the accident resulted in the condition of the truck being destroyed and made all train passengers panic.

Head of Gakum Laka Traffic Unit of the Jombang Police, Ipda Anang Setiyanto, said that the train and truck accidents were caused by a truck driven by Abdul Haris, a resident of Tulungagung who broke down while in the middle of the crossing. At the same time, the Turangga train drove from the west to the east of Surabaya.

"When he broke down and found out that the driver's train had immediately gone down to save himself. Because the distance was too close, the accident was inevitable," said Iptu Anang, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 30.

Mujib, one of the train passengers, said the accident occurred when the train was traveling from west to Surabaya. While at the crossing suddenly a truck broke down in the middle of the lane.

This accident resulted in the Turangga train locomotive being heavily damaged and anjlog, as well as damaged rail lines in the form of broken pads.

"The clashes were hard, until the locomotive was damaged and plummeted," he said.

He explained that the hard impact caused the truck with a truck to be thrown about 100 meters from the scene. All the bodies and cargo were scattered around the location. Meanwhile, the condition of the locomotive was also badly damaged. Furthermore, after the train hit, the truck had stopped after traveling about one kilometer from the scene.

This condition made a number of passengers panic and had to be calmed down by KAI officers. In fact, all passengers are asked to be patient to wait for the replacement locomotive to continue their journey to the destination. Meanwhile, the collapsed locomotive is still being handled by officers from Daops 7 Madiun.
