Maliq & D Essentials Will Release Single Unfortunately, Starting From Next Year's Album Plan

JAKARTA - Maliq & D Essentials has prepared a new single titled oh, which will be released on November 24.

Regarding this new single, Angga (vocals) mentioned the new nuances that were presented. During the cultivation process, he even felt like he was returning to 20 years ago, when Maliq & D Essentials had just started his career in the music world.

"Honestly, I didn't expect that a song like this would come out like this in Maliq's work at this age. The process is very memorable, where at the time of creating this song the situation is really really really fun. It's as if this 20-year-old band is like a new band that has never released an album. There is no pressure to make a song like what it is," said Angga during a press conference in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on Monday, November 13.

Meanwhile, it was worked on after the Maliq & D Essentials completed their 20-year Concert last May. It didn't take long for them to work on, as well as the labels that immediately agreed.

Meanwhile, Widi (drum) said he was happy when he was appointed as the producer of this latest single. He said Angga again played a big role in lyric writing. This song, he called it a song full of hooks.

"There are many hooks in this song, Angga and Indah who find the lyrics. This is what I am most happy about, Angga hasn't explored writing the lyrics for a long time," said Widi.

I'm happy that there are many sentences that I don't really like, that's what I'm waiting for. I handed them over, especially in theverse. I only contributed to the chorus. Because I like hooks, so I'm looking for hooks," he continued.

As a pre-release, the version of the song "Ohah" with a duration of 30 seconds can be heard on the TikTok platform. Since last November 10, it's been used as a background song from more than 15 thousand videos.

"We also didn't expect it to be accepted like that on TikTok. Yes, we certainly can't wait to see their response when the full version of the song is released later," said Indah (vocals).

Meanwhile, the song Kuhat is one of the ingredients of a new album which is planned to be released in the first quarter of 2024. So far, four other songs have been recorded and are ready to be released on the new album.

For information, the release of this new song also marks the return of Maliq & D Essentials to join under the auspices of Warner Music Indonesia.

The two of them worked together in 2005. For five years, maliq released four albums. Then, they decided to take the indie path by setting up their own music labels in 2010.
