Inara Rusli Will Ask LMK And Publisher For Virgoun Songs To Get Royalties Directly

The West Jakarta Religious Court's decision in the divorce case between Virgoun and Inara Rusli contains the matter of distributing song royalties.

According to Arjana Bagaskara, Inara Rusli's attorney, the panel of judges granted a request for royalty distribution of four songs created by Virgoun, namely Love Letter for Starla, Evidence, Congratulations, and People who are the same.

"In that decision, we ask, we demand that it be related to the distribution of Notch royalties, now it turns out that the panel granted it. Because legally, royalties are economic rights that are derived from Virgoun's songs. Now, for this royalty, Inara has the right to half a share," said Arjana Bagaskara when contacted by VOI, Sunday, November 12.

Arjana said the decision of the West Jakarta Religious Court would be the legal basis for Inara Rusli to receive royalties from the four songs directly from the Collective Management Institute (LMK) and the publisher.

"Yes, I will definitely sue him to the public and LMK. Because royalties are paid through them as a source of royalty distribution," said Arjana.

"Like Virgoun, the name of the LMK is WAMI, so automatically we will also attract WAMI to be able to execute this Religious Court decision," he continued.

In this case, Arjana also tried to straighten out that what Inara Rusli demanded from Virgoun was not copyright, but the economic rights of the four songs created by Virgoun.

That way, Virgoun's moral rights as a songwriter will not change.

"What might make it a bit biased later, the public may understand that Inara is demanding as a songwriter, no, Inara gets a part of the derivative in the form of economic rights from those songs," he said.
