Ferdy Element And Eza Yayang Create A New Music Project Named Om Om

JAKARTA - Ferdy Tahier, vocalist of Element formed a new band consisting of Eza Yayang, Reynold Affandi, Acoy or Aditya Suryo, and Ricky Anggawijaya.

They named the band Om Om. Ferdy Tahier cs has also released a single entitled Kisah Kasih Om Om.

Eza Yayang said that the band formed when he and Ferdy Tahier met on a podcast. Finally, they started a new music project by inviting three other personnel.

"Meeting initially on the podcast, finally invited Ferdy to make a side project. Incidentally Penyot (Reynold) and Ferdy called until the others entered. Finally, this is Om Om," said Eza Yayang to the media crew in Jakarta recently.

Regarding the selection of the band's name, Ferdy Tahier explained that Om Om was chosen because many young people called himself and Eza as "Om".

Previously, I wanted to use the name of the Mother Prayer or Lontar Jaya. If we found it, all of them were finally called om. Yes, just make fun using the band Om Om," said Ferdy Tahier.

Although the band naming process is arguably eccentric, the music played by this band is worked on seriously.

Regarding the musical style chosen by Om Om, Acoy said that his new band played music with very diverse musical references, from the 1960s to the 1990s.

"The reference is arguably taken from pop-pop music from the 60s, 70s, 80s to 90s as well," said Acoy.

Meanwhile, the song Kisah Kasih Om tells the story of an adult man who falls in love with a high school student. The love story, which is considered strange, is called Ferdy as a real reality that occurs in life.

"These songs are about the problem of uncle or man who is married, from being tempted by high school children to financial problems," said Ferdy Tahier.
