JAKARTA - The band Elkasih visited the Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI) office to question royalties on their song titled Kau Tigakan Cinta, which has recently been played and played on social media a lot.

The three Elkasih personnel who attended were El Ari (keyboards), El Arief (drums), and El Ricky (vocals). Former Elkasih vocalist and songwriter You Tigakan Cinta, El Ibnu was also seen accompanying other personnel.

Reflecting on past experiences, El Ari said that for years Elkasih had not received royalties from their songs because they felt that their record label had been rigged.

In 2020, Elkasih managed to regain the right to these songs, and currently its management is left to Nagaswara.

With what has happened, El Ari does not want the coffers of money generated from the song You Tigakan Cinta to go to another irresponsible party.

"We don't want to happen again at this time, the song is viral, we can't get it anymore. Finally, we went to the institution that we mastered for the song, namely WAMI and Nagaswara," said El Ari at Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta Monday, August 21.

El Ari explained that Nagaswara, in this case, protects the mechanical rights of the song Kau Tigakan Cinta. Meanwhile, WAMI protects the right to performance.

"With Nagaswara, we have confirmed that they have calculated their royalties. Automatically it can be relieved," said El Ari.

"Well, we went to WAMI today to question this, and have met with representatives from WAMI," he continued.

After seeking information about song royalties to WAMI, El Arif as one of the songwriters with El Ibnu, said he was satisfied with what he saw.

Although El Arif did not clearly mention the nominal royalties that had been collected, El Arif hoped that the royalties commonly received in April and October could be obtained when the time came.

"It's great, only unfortunately so far we know to hear the song everywhere, but we haven't got the economic rights, especially me and El Ibnu in the song You Tigakan Cinta," concluded El Arif.
