Wish Film Review, Guide To Managing Hope And Disappointment Over Failed Dreams

JAKARTA - Wish has been showing simultaneously in Indonesian cinemas starting Wednesday, November 22. This Disney animated film features a variety of touching musical scenes from the country of Rosas, where everyone hopes to be realized.

Wish tells the story of Asha ( voiced by Ariana DeBose), a smart and strong-willed girl who lives in Rosas' country. Every day, he helps his friends in the kitchen of the palace as well as guides tours for tourists who are traveling in Rosas.

Asha and all Rosas residents have great respect for their beautiful king named Magnifico (filled by Chris Pine). For them, the king is a firm, kind-day, and protective magic figure, so any decision from him will be accepted and responded well to by the people of Rosas.

One day, Asha was invited by the king to see the hope storage space of the entire Rosas community. Here, anyone who is on his 18th birthday is allowed to keep their hopes and give them to King Magnifico, before finally Magnifico will choose one hope from those who can be granted every month. Asha also hopes that at the award ceremony that occurs once a month, King Magnifico can choose his 100-year-old grandfather's hopes to be granted. Right on his grandfather's birthday, Asha asked Magnifico to grant his grandfather's dream.

However, the truth began to emerge when Asha was in the storage space of hope. Firmly speaking, Magnifico did not want to grant Asha's request because according to him Asha's grandfather's dream would destroy Rosas.

In fact, Asha's grandfather's dream was quite simple. He just wanted to play music in front of the residents of Rosas happily, and according to Asha, it was far from dangerous.

Asha also found one bitter fact that Magnifico had been covering up for years.

With the help of a small star who was accidentally called by him, Asha also tried to realize his grandfather's hopes as well as carry out a dangerous mission for the people of Rosas. Did Asha succeed?

Although in the first 15 minutes the Wish film felt slow and a bit 'bore', but in the middle to the end, this film was quite successfully executed. Like the previous Disney film, which was full of singing and dance, Wish also presented two elements of this entertaining in it. There are two things that will attract the attention of the audience and maybe always be remembered by them, namely the presence of the little star who gave hope and Valentino, the boy's three-week-old goat. From the start of the film, Valentino with the sound of embikan which bursts and his adorable behavior managed to steal attention.

With his agile expression, Valentino runs along with Asha wherever he goes. Valentino's careless behavior also managed to make the audience laugh because of the many unexpected things he did.

When a small star first descends to earth, its interaction with Valentino once again makes the audience laugh. The adorable scenes of both of them became one of the most eagerly awaited by the audience to appear.

Similar to Valentino, the little star who always smiles is always attracting attention.
