JAKARTA - The film Please pray for Restu will be shown in theaters in Indonesia starting on October 26. The film, played by Jefri Nichol as Satya and Syifa Hadju as Mel, raises one of the problems that is closely related and likes to be found in people's lives, namely the drama behind going to marriage from two families who have different backgrounds.

Satya and Mel are two small friends who fell in love and met again at an adult age. The two agreed to take their relationship to a more serious level, after getting tired of finding the perfect partner for their respective families.

From the second story, cultural diversity, differences in family traits and perspectives are clearly displayed through the nature of each character who is able to make the audience laugh and cry at the same time. Mimik faces when the players are depressed, happy to harbor feelings, are shown in detail and clearly so that the audience is invited to feel and absorb the emotions of the players in the film.

Then talking about visuals, Jefri Nichol, who usually looks cool and stylish, is shown to be quieter, easily panicked and obedient. There is absolutely no hardness that can be seen from Jefri.

The twists and turns of Satya and Mel's journey became even more exciting because of the involvement of their parents, namely Widi, played by Cut Mini Theo and Ira, played by Sarah Sechan.

Both want everything in their children's lives to be the best of the best. But, unfortunately, this desire actually destroys the plan that Satya and Mel have built slowly. Every action that Widi and Ira take, makes Mel even more doubtful about Satya.

The meeting of Cut Mini and Sarah Sechan, according to Director Ody Harahap, brought fresh air into the film because both were given freedom in exploring characters and enriching dialogue in scenes.

The two actresses were given space to defend themselves according to existing boundaries, however, they still had to convey the essence of the film message from the parent side. The nosy, excited and loving nature has been successfully visualized by both of them.

Dea Panendra, who plays Astrid, has also managed to steal the attention of every scene that involves her. Playing a career woman who is unlucky in love, makes Astrid have a lot of lessons to share with Mel.

The various songs included in the making, such as the 'More Beautiful' sung by Adera, provide a fresh and gentle touch that depicts colorful days when young are in love.

The film also features Kiki Narendra, Del Vikesha, Maria Theodore and Abdul Adul. Screenplay Films, Ifi Sinema with Rapi Films invites the whole family to build healthy and honest communication with fellow family members through a comedy drama Please pray for Restu which gives a new color to the Indonesian film world.

"In Indonesia, which has cultural diversity, marriage that brings two families together certainly cannot be avoided from all matters, both customary and ceremonial," said Producer Wicky Olindo, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, October 24.

As a film that raises family problems, Please pray Restu is a film that can be used as learning material to improve communication between children and parents who like to make decisions unilaterally or have difficulty expressing their heart.

The story gives a strong message that both parents and children want to be understood, heard and nothing perfect. This shortcoming must be understood by each individual in order to become a more resilient family and avoid various risks that come from outside.
