Congratulations! Sri Asih's Film Wins Next Wave Features At Fantastic Fest 2023

JAKARTA - The Indonesian superhero film directed by Upi and starring Pevita Pearce, Sri Asih has just won an award at the Fantastic Fest 2023 film festival. Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the United States that puts forward a challenging and inspiring cinema as well as celebrating new voices and new stories from filmmakers around the world. Fantastic Fest this year took place on 21–28 September 2023 in Austin, Texas, United States. Joko Anwar expressed his appreciation that Sri Asih received from the international community to provide optimism that new works and stories could be well received. This indicates that Sri Asih does have unquestionable quality. This award also gives us more enthusiasm to produce the next works at BCU,” Joko said in a media statement received by VOI, Wednesday, September 27.

The film Sri Asih is part of the World Cinema Bumilangit (Bumiangit Cinematic Universe). Sri Asih is also the opening act for BCU films. This action and science fiction superhero film stars Pevita Pearce, Reza Rahadian, Christine Hakim, Jefri Nichol, Dimas Anggara, Surya Saputra, Jenny Zhang, and Randy Pangalila.
