Christine Hakim has a long record in the world of Indonesian cinema. Starting his career as a teenager through the film Cinta Remaja which was released in 1973, he has received many awards for his acting work.

Slamet Rahardjo, Christine Hakim's co-star in the film Cinta Pertama, shared his experiences while acting together for the first time. He said there was a very basic difference between himself and the actress.

"For me, it's from the regions, I'm from Yogyakarta. Very different from Christine Hakim, who is from the capital Jakarta," said Slamet Rahardjo at a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, August 30.

"But Mr. Teguh Karya (director) did not choose the wrong choice, it turns out that Christine is an extraordinary actor. If I can do half of it (acting) because of studying, if she is purely an actor," he continued.

Garin Nugroho, a director who worked with Christine Hakim when producing the film Daun on Pillow in 1998, called her an actress who represented many eras.

"Looking at the history of the journey of Indonesian films, we saw Christine Hakim's journey. He succeeded not only as an actor, but in the 70s to 80s he became a trend setter," said Garin Nugroho.

"Then when the Indonesian film died animation, Christine Hakim also appeared and our film came back to life. Recently, she was also still present through very diverse films," he added.

However, Garin Nugroho said that working with Christine Hakim was not an easy thing. He said the 66-year-old actress had her own idealism, especially about films.

"But one more thing, Christine Hakim's cooperation is difficult to ask for forgiveness. He's a stubborn person," said Garin Nugroho, greeted by laughter from those present at the press conference.

Christine Hakim's hard head was also recognized by Reza Rahadian, who was known as an admirer. Reza, who initiated The Journey of Christine Hakim as a celebration of her 50-year career, said that her idol did have a difficult position to fight against.

"It's just like that (pointing at a set in the press conference room), Mrs. Christine who asked and had to be there," concluded Reza Rahadian, greeted by laughter from the people present. While teasing, Reza landed a warm kiss on Christine Hakim's cheek.
