5 Junior High School Students In Gorontalo City Asik Hirup Lem Arrested, Police Call Parents

The West City Police have arrested five students who were found breathing glue in a resident's house in Molohati W Village, West City District, Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province.

West City Police Chief (Kapolsek) Iptu Eldo Rawung said the five students were arrested when his party held an enhanced routine patrol (KRYD) this afternoon.

"They were busy inhaling glue, found by police personnel who were carrying out KRYD patrols this afternoon," Eldo said in Gorontalo, Tuesday, November 21, as reported by Antara.

He said, of the five students, four of them were junior high school students in the Gorontalo City area, while one other person came from a junior high school in Gorontalo Regency.

When found by the police at the house of one of the residents, he said, these five students were holding small glue cans with certain brands, which when checked turned out to be glue.

"Junior high school students along with several cans of glue were immediately secured by the police and taken to the West City Police Headquarters for data collection and examination to coaching," he said.

After the examination, he continued, his party immediately invited each parent and made a statement not to repeat their actions again.

"We call their respective parents, as well as homeowners who are used as gathering places. We also provide guidance to create a deterrent effect," he said.

He appealed to parents to continue to pay attention to their children's association, and he also asked parents to further tighten supervision of their children, especially with whom they are friends.

"Parents must actively monitor relationships and tighten supervision of their children. Do not let them commit acts that harm themselves," he said.
