Chery Omoda 5 EV Lands In Malaysia In The Form Of Imports Not Local Inmates

The Chery Omoda 5 EV has landed in Malaysia, more precisely, has arrived at Port Klang, and will be launched in the near future or more precisely in 2024.

Quoted from the Paultan page, Tuesday, November 21, the status of the Chery 5 EV is different from the Omoda 5 which is indeed assembled locally (CKD), but it is not clear which country will supply the Omoda 5 EV.

This futuristic car has also removed its sheaths in Indonesia, even gaining 100 units out of a total of 576 Chery Vehicle Ordering Letters (SPK) during the 11 days of the GIIAS 2023 implementation. The manufacturer also stated that it plans to assemble local Omoda 5 EVs, meaning that it is not imported or CKD.

As is known, Chery Omoda 5 EV debuted at Auto Shanghai this year as the full electric version of Omoda 5, and offers a range of up to 450 km based on data from CLTC.

The car is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 61 kWh, which comes with electric motor drivers in front, and produces 221 hp or 165 kW of power.

With the figure above the Chery Omoda 5 EV can go 0-100 km/hour within 7.8 seconds. The Chinese brand claims that it only consumes 15 kWh/100 km of powertrain and the battery can be recharged 20-80 percent in just 30 minutes.

For the Indonesian market itself, Chery said that the electric car will be officially sold in 2024. Now, it is worth waiting for its presence to add to the ranks of electric vehicles in the country.
