Debut Last June, Indonesian Consumers Purchased More BMW I7 Than The 7 Hybrid Series

JAKARTA - BMW Group Indonesia, as a BMW car provider in Indonesia, has again recorded the positive sales results throughout 2023. One of the driving factors for increasing sales is the Series-7 or i7 model.

Introduced last June, the car received a public positive response. The sedan, which has a ginjal' goal design, comes in two variants, namely 735i M Sport as a mild-hybrid type and i7 xDrive60 Gran Lusso is one of the manufacturer's EV models.

Jodie O'tania, as Director of Communications BMW Group Indonesia, said these two models have contributed to encouraging the sale of this German manufacturer in Indonesia with the i7 model being the most successful compared to the hybrid version.

"For now, BMW i7 is selling more than 735i M Sport," said Jodie when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, November 21.

Based on wholesale data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), it states that the BMW i7 xDrive60 Gran Lusso has sold 90 units and made it the EV model in the premium class with the most sales after the Lexus RZ 450+ and BMW iX.

Although not as many as the electricity version, BMW 735i M Sport has sold 52 units since it was first launched in mid-2023.

In the 735i M Sport variant, it has 48V MHEV technology with a 6-cylinder engine with a capacity of 2,998 cc and BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology. With hybrid millid technology, this car can produce 286 dk and 425 Nm torque with acceleration capabilities from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 6.7 seconds.

Then for the BMW i7 xDrive60 Gran Lusso variant, having a double electric motor on each front and rear can produce a combined power of 544 dk and a torque of 745 Nm. Both electric motors can make i7 xDrive60 go from 0 to 100 km/hour in a time of 4.7 seconds.

In addition to the above average performance, i7 xDrive60 Gran Lusso also has the largest battery capacity of 101.7 kWh which can make this car have a range of up to 625 km in one charge.

The variant is also equipped with BMW's eDrive technology that can charge the car from 10 to 80 percent in 34 minutes with a DC fast-charging power of 195 kW.

Regarding the price, the BMW 735i M Sport is priced at IDR 2.287 billion Off The Road and will be assembled locally by PT Gaya Motor, part of the BMW Production Network 2, Sunter, North Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the BMW i7 xDrive60 Gran Lusso comes with an exterior color choice of the car body, namely Saphire Black, Oxide Gray, Dravit Gray,venturine Red, and Tanzanite Blue. Interestingly, there are also color choices for the roof, namely Oxide Gray and Saphire Black. The car, which is fully supplied by electricity, is priced at IDR 3.4 billion Off The Road.
