In Front Of Students, BPH Migas Invites Young Kawula To Support Subsidized Fuel On Target

JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) invites students to actively support the subsidized fuel distribution program (BBM) on target by participating in monitoring and reporting its abuse to helpdesk BPH Migas.

Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati in her statement in Jakarta, Saturday said that BPH Migas is an institution, one of which is to regulate and supervise the provision and distribution of subsidized fuel.

For this reason, he continued, BPH Migas must ensure subsidized fuel is available in all regions of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Efforts to ensure the availability of subsidized fuel to remote areas include through the One Price Fuel Program, the main thing is to build fuel distributors in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas. In addition, we also maintain that the price of fuel in the 3T region is the same as in Java Island," said Erika during the BPH Migas Goes to Campus event with the topic "A to Z on Downstream Oil and Gas" at Universitas Brawijaya, following [Antara.

The younger generation as agents of change, according to Erika, must be able to bring big and positive changes to community activities.

For the energy sector, he added, students can support the use of energy well, such as using fuel according to the needs and applicable regulations and supervising its distribution.

"There is state money in subsidized fuel, so that younger students can help maintain the distribution and get involved in monitoring the distribution of fuel by reporting it to the BPH Migas helpdesk at 0812 3000 0136. If it is suspected that there is misuse of subsidized fuel in the field, we will follow up and we will protect the identity of the reporter," said Erika.

Meanwhile, Member of the BPH Migas Committee Wahyudi Anas at the event explained the duties and functions of BPH Migas, including criteria for people who are entitled to use subsidized fuel such as two-wheeled vehicles, public transportation, micro businesses, fishermen, farmers, and public services.

"This subsidy must be controlled so that it is right on target and right on volume. Do not let us buy fuel that is not our right, so that in the end people who have the right to buy it cannot even buy it," he said.

According to him, one of the efforts to use subsidized fuel on target and on volume is through the use of a QR code, limiting the volume of purchases per day for four-wheeled vehicles and above, and a recommendation letter in accordance with BPH Migas Regulation Number 2 of 2023 concerning the Issuance of Recommended Letters for Purchase of Certain Types of Oil Fuel (JBT) and Types of Assignment Special Fuel (JBKP).

Member of the BPH Migas Committee Abdul Halim added that in an effort to minimize the distribution of subsidized fuel, BPH Migas also carried out improvements in terms of regulations, the use of digitalization technology, collaborated with law enforcement officials (APH), and collaborated with other relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"Our regulations are perfect so that they are always dynamic (sustainable improvement). Likewise with surveillance equipment by using the latest technology," he said.

Halim also emphasized the importance of the younger generation, especially students, studying legal matters that become the umbrella or basis for implementing a policy.

"Please study the legal aspect as the basis for stepping up. Legal umbrellas are also the main thing for the government to do something. If there is no legal umbrella, then the technical implementation of policies made cannot be implemented," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Widodo, expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the BPH Migas Goes to Campus because it can increase student knowledge about energy, especially oil and natural gas.

"Thank you for organizing BPH Migas Goes to Campus at Brawijaya University. This activity provides knowledge to the younger generation who will lead the country in the future. Students not only understand the field, but also need to understand the governance of national and global organizations, which BPH Migas is part of this," he said.

BPH Migas also appreciated the activeness and seriousness of students in participating in events seen from interesting discussion sessions such as Naufal, a student of the Faculty of Law, who pays attention to the rampant retail sales of subsidized fuel on the side of the road.
