Pupuk Indonesia Launches Journalistic Competition Program Again
JAKARTA - After successfully implementing the first Pupuk Indonesia Media Award (PIMA) in 2022, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) again held a program to appreciate PIMA's journalistic work in 2023. This competition is open to all journalists, both national and regional media.
SVP Secretary of the Indonesian Fertilizer Company, Wijaya Laksana, stated that this year PIMA 2023 will take the theme Pupuk Indonesia Supports Food Security & Create a New Future Through Petrochemical Industry Development.
"Through this program, we intend to further introduce the role of Pupuk Indonesia and its subsidiaries in the fertilizer industry in supporting national food security," said Wijaya, in his statement, Wednesday, November 15. In addition to supporting national food security, Wijaya also mentioned that another goal of this program is to inform the public about the direction of the Pupuk Indonesia business which is determined to be the main player in the national petrochemical industry. This is due to the fertilizer industry which has the ability to diversify and downstream petrochemical products such as ammonia, soda ash, methanol, and so on.
This business will be a new future for Pupuk Indonesia Group. And of course it will bring many benefits to the country. Starting from the opening of employment opportunities, suppressing imports of petrochemical products, increasing regional income, increasing the investment climate, and opening up other economic opportunities that can be utilized by the surrounding community," he explained.

Not only about Pupuk Indonesia, this journalistic work appreciation program also includes the performance and operational activities of ten subsidiaries. The ten subsidiaries of Pupuk Indonesia are PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Rekayasa Industri, PT Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, PT Pupuk Indonesia Utilities, PT Pupuk Indonesia Pangan, and PT Pupuk Indonesia Logistik.
There are at least two sub-themes in this event. First, related to Pupuk Indonesia's efforts to support the agricultural sector and the affordability of fertilizers, as well as efforts to provide cultivation control to farmers through the Makmur program to realize national food security.

The second sub-themage is related to the role of Pupuk Indonesia Group in creating a new future through industrial downstreaming and business diversification in the petrochemical sector, including the development of clean ammonia and the fertilizer industry area in Fakfak, West Papua, to support national economic growth and become a Go Global company according to the direction of SOE Minister Erick Thohir.
In this event, Pupuk Indonesia will give a total appreciation of IDR 210 million for all winners and nominations. The categories in this competition consist of the categories of Print Media, Online Media, Television Media, and Photo Essay. As for the competition period, it applies to publications published from October 1 to November 30, 2023. The announcement and delivery of the prize itself is planned to be held in December 2023.
"We hope that through this program the public will get more information and be educated about the development of the national fertilizer industry, especially Pupuk Indonesia Group in supporting food security and its efforts to develop strategic business in the national petrochemical industry," explained Wijaya.
