6 Points That Must Be Fulfilled By Jakarta To Become A Global-Scale Smart City
JAKARTA - Six points must be met by Jakarta so that it becomes a smart global-scale city after no longer having the status of the State Capital (IKN).
"Incidentally, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Bappeda (Regional Planning Agency) has conducted a synthesis of Jakarta as a global city," said Head of the Jakarta Smart City Management Unit (UP JSC) Yudhistira Nugrahapa "Jakarta Smart City Forum 2023".
Six points or important things have been mapped (mapping). "So there are six categories. We are trying to'mapping' these six categories," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 14.
First, an established and globally connected economic sector. One of the indicators that must be met by Jakarta as a global city, namely the existence of companies in Jakarta in the list of 500 of the world's top companies.
Therefore, his party made a number of efforts, such as collaborating with the Ministry of Communication in the National Movement for 1,000 Startups to build a "startup" ecosystem.
"Hopefully this'startup' will become the embryos of the world's top companies," he said.
Second, the creation of skilled personnel in the field of services as well as the development of research and innovation. Jakarta needs to have its own characteristics in the field of information technology.
"So if we look at India. India, if it is in the IT world, is already very well known for its 'programmers'. Dubai, with characteristics, for example in the field of services and Korea, games (gaming) and so on," he said.
"Of course Jakarta as a global city must have characteristics," he said.
Third, the comfort of Jakarta to live in. His party collaborated with the DKI Jakarta Health Office to provide the JakSehat application as an effort to provide access to health information and services.
The application is equipped with features that allow users to consult on health and access queues of hospitals and health centers. In addition, it also provides information in other fields, such as housing, traffic and labor to serve residents.
Fourth, Jakarta as a tourist destination center. He gave an example, London and Singapore are not only economic centers, but also concurrently tourism centers.
Therefore, his party cooperates with a number of parties, such as the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office and Jakcation
to provide tourism information services in a dwiguage, namely Indonesian and English.
Fifth, as a global city, Jakarta needs a clean and sustainable environment. Of course, various efforts are made, especially in the context of digital platforms.
These efforts are a collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) to install several air sensors in several areas so that people get information about air quality.

In addition, his party also provides sensors that are integrated with the flood control system so that they can become an early warning system through notifications for users.
Sixth, transportation connectivity in Jakarta, both intra- and intercity.
"Of course, if we look at the recent years, Jakarta has been very fast in the context of transportation. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is collaborating with the central government, very focused on public transportation development, such as MRT, LRT and so on.
According to him, this step is an effort to connect Jakarta residents with the surrounding areas, such as Depok and Bogor.
Previously, Assistant to the Government of the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Sigit Wijatmoko, said that Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital, Jakarta would no longer be the capital city of Indonesia. However, Jakarta will remain the center of the national economy, with global city parameters as a reference.
