Manpower Office Reveals Chinese Citizens Dominate Foreign Workers In Tangerang
The Tangerang Regency Manpower Office (Disnaker) revealed that foreign workers (TKA) in a number of companies in Tangerang Regency were dominated by Chinese citizens (WN).
"For this year, the most people who have come to us (Tangerang) are mostly Chinese and South Korean citizens," said Head of the Placement and Expansion Division of Job Opportunities at the Tangerang Regency Manpower Office, Iis Kurniati in Tangerang, Banten Province, Monday, November 13, as reported by Antara.
He revealed that apart from China, foreign workers in the region are also dominated by South Korean and Japanese nationals.
From foreign nationals who have the status of foreign workers, they work in various fields in existing companies, ranging from manufacturing experts to educators or teachers.
"The majority of the foreign workers work in the field of education as teachers, mostly from China and Korea," he said.

According to Iis, based on data for the period January - October 2023, a total of 775 foreign nationals (foreigners) have the status of foreign workers (TKA).
"From the results of the report on the existence of foreign workers from January to October 2023, there has been an increase, the number is 775 people," he said.
All forms of licensing for these foreign workers to work in Tangerang Regency are the authority of the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (Kemenakertrans), so that it cannot regulate or limit the needs of foreign workers for the industrial and education sectors in the region.
"The licensing process is in the Ministry, and we also don't understand how many foreigners are illegal," he said.
Meanwhile, his 2022 period has also recorded 1,372 foreigners working in several companies in his area.
"For 2022, there were 1,372 foreigners, while the previous year, namely 2021, there were 969 foreigners," he said.
Foreign workers who have worked and paid compensation funds for the use of foreign workers have recorded 547 people.
"About 547 foreign workers in 2022 will pay compensation funds for the use of foreign workers," he said.
