207 PPPK Teachers In Sorong Haven't Been Paid Since August, City Government Promises To Pay For The 2023 Revised APBD

WEST PAPUA DAYA - Sorong City Government has budgeted a salary arrears payment of 207 government employee teachers with a Work Agreement (PPPK) of Rp. 6.4 billion.

Head of the Sorong City Education Office, Yuli Atmini, said that the budget for the payment of salaries for PPPK teachers for August to November 2023 came from the 2023 revised APBD. However, the disbursement is still waiting for the process of disbursing the revised APBD.

"We are still waiting for another day or two for the DPA to come in, then we will make a payment after we submit it to BPKAD," Yuli explained in Sorong, Southwest Papua Province, Thursday, November 2, which was confiscated by Antara.

In addition to waiting for the DPA, 207 PPPK teachers who had received the decree in August but had not received the salary were due to the submission of the PPPK teacher decree that occurred in the middle of the 2023 APBD so that the PPK teachers' salaries were not automatically accommodated in the 2023 APBD.

"Except for the submission of the decree before the discussion of the 2023 APBD, of course it will be accommodated in the discussion of the 2023 APBD," explained Head of the Sorong City Education Office, Yuli Atmini.

The payment of the PPPK teacher's salary, he said, would be distributed twice, namely paying salaries in November, then followed by a salary payment three months earlier.

"So later we will pay in November and then one or two days later we will pay our salaries three months earlier," said Yuli.

He ensured that after the payment of salaries for PPPK teachers who experienced arrears in 2023, in the future the payroll would be normal because they would continue to be accommodated in the APBD budget hearing next year.

"So the problem lies in the acceptance of the PPPK teacher's decree in the middle of the APBD," said Yuli.

To date, the number of PPPK teachers in Sorong City is 547 people spread across all educational units in Sorong City.
