Zero Monkeypox Cases, Lampung Provincial Government Anticipates Spread Via Banten

BANDAR LAMPUNG - Lampung Provincial Health Office (Dinkes) stated that in the area there had not been any cases of monkeypox or Monkeypox (Mpox).

"This monkeypox case is already in several areas outside Lampung, but we are grateful even though it is close to Banten, currently no case of monkeypox has been found," said Acting Head of the Lampung Provincial Health Office Edwin Rusli, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 2.

He said that although no positive confirmed cases of monkeypox had been found in his area, anticipatory steps still needed to be taken.

Prevention steps still need to be taken, such as maintaining endurance by consuming vitamins and nutritious food. Then apply a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) to maintain the body's condition in order to avoid various diseases, one of which is monkeypox," he said.

He explained that in addition to preventing the transmission of monkeypox cases to his area, his party had dispatched surveillance officers to carry out their duties of monitoring in the field.

"Currently there really is no (case of monkeypox), surveillance officers are also still carrying out their duties to carry out routine monitoring in the field," he said.

He continued, while for supervision from the side of guarding the entrance to Lampung Province, his party also collaborated with the Port Health Office (KKP) in conducting surveillance at the entrance.

"For supervision at entrances such as at airports, our ports cooperate with KKP. They do not carry out inspections one by one but comprehensive supervision," he added.

According to him, with efforts to prevent independently by the community and what the local government is doing, it is hoped that the case of monkeypox will not spread in the area.

It is known that the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) on Tuesday (31/10) reported that the distribution of monkeypox cases when viewed from domicile was in the provinces of DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten.

And for the number of positive cases of monkeypox in Indonesia, currently detected a total of 27 cases. With the average confirmed cases experienced by male patients aged 25-48 years and generally having the condition of HIV/AIDS participation. As for suspected cases, there were 21 and 44 cases of discarded or not related to monkeypox.
