PLN-Aruna Cooperation Bangun PLTS Groundmounted Capacity 100 MWp In Purwakarta

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) through its subsidiary, PLN Batam collaborated with PT Aruna Cahaya Pratama (Aruna PV) in the construction of the largest groundmounted Solar Power Plant project in Indonesia with a capacity of 100 Megawatt peak (MWp).

The Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman P. Hutajulu said that this project is a concrete form of synergy between the government, BUMN and the private sector in realizing the provision of clean energy.

"This event is a historic milestone and is clear evidence of the synergy between the government, BUMN and the private sector in providing electricity through renewable energy," said Jisman, Saturday, October 28.

He appreciated the formation of this collaboration and hopes that this project will serve as an example for the development of new and renewable energy in the country. President Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo said, this PLTS development project is also PLN's support in encouraging industrial competitiveness. In the midst of current global demands that are turning to clean energy, the domestic industry also needs a green electricity supply so that the products produced have added value.

"Electricity which is the heart of the economy does not only stop at reliable electricity, but also to increase competitiveness. PLN fully supports the Indonesian industry to grow through environmentally friendly electricity supply," said Darmawan.

This cooperation in the construction of PLTS with a capacity of 100 MWp will use around 170 thousand solar panel modules with a groundmounted or installed system on the ground, spread over five locations in an area of more than 85 hectares in the Bukit Indah Industrial City City City area.

President Director of Aruna PV, Audwin Purwadi said the Bukit Indah City industrial area is an industrial area that is growing. Currently, many multinational companies need clean electricity supply as one of the conditions for running company operations.

The PLTS development project can be implemented because PLN provides the opportunity to collaborate in the use of new and renewable energy. PLN's collaboration with Aruna in this project is also supported by PT Tatajabar Sejahtera (TJS) as an offtaker, as well as PT Besland Pertiwi as the owner of the project land," explained Audwin.

The construction of this PLTS, added Audwin, will create substantial economic impacts, because it can create jobs, provide local business opportunities, and support economic growth in the surrounding region.

"The development of PLTS with a capacity of 100 MWp is a form of our commitment to the state to be a pioneer in the use of renewable energy sources and play a role in switching to more sustainable energy sources," concluded Audwin.
