Yenny Wahid And Gus Dur Cadres Support Ganjar-Mahfud MD In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - The son of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrachman Wahid or Gus Dur, Yenny Wahid and the ranks of Gus Dur cadres provide support for the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
"We, the ranks of Gus Dur cadres, stated to support the pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD," Yenny said, greeted by Gus Dur's cadres who were present at the declaration at the Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta, Friday, October 27.
Yenny initially mentioned three presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
However, due to various considerations, including hearing the aspirations of many selected parties, it is increasingly narrowing.
Until finally Yenny decided to support Ganjar-Mahfud. He mentioned a number of considerations, including the closeness of Mahfud MD with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).
Not only that, Mahfud is also considered a figure who instills Gus Dur's value in his daily life and is consistent in law enforcement.
Consistent Mahfud MD in this case has been tested. Mr. Mahfud is also a figure who fights for pluralism as Gus Dur's struggle line. So far he has firmly voiced that from time to time," he said.
