KPU Has Not Received A Notification Letter For Registering For The Vice Presidential Candidate For The Prabowo Coalition
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) Idham Holik hopes that the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) which carries Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka can submit a notification letter of registration for the presidential/vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election at noon or afternoon today. "KPU has not received a notification letter from the joint KIM political party (Indonesian Coalition Forward), hopefully this afternoon or afternoon the notification letter has been received by the KPU," said Idham to ANTARA in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 24. He admitted that his party had not received a Prabowo-Gibran registration notification letter until 10.27 WIB. In fact, Prabowo and Gibran plan to register as a pair of presidential/vice presidential candidates to the Indonesian KPU on October 25, 2023. To note, the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair will be the only presidential/vice presidential candidate pairs who have not registered with the KPU. The two pairs of other presidential/vice presidential candidates, such as Anies Baswedan-Cak Imin and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. have registered with the KPU on Thursday (19/10). The two pairs of presidential/vice presidential candidates have also carried out health tests on Saturday (21/10) and Sunday (22/10) at the Gatot Soebroto RSPAD. The RI KPU will open registration for pairs for presidential-vice candidates from October 19 to 25, 2023 at 08.00-16.00 WIB and on the last day it will be opened until 23.59 WIB

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It is also possible that candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
