Fishermen From Buton Reported Missing In Teluk Lande Waters, Southeast Sulawesi
KENDARI - Baubau SAR Post Rescue Team, Kendari Basarnas conducted a search for a missing fisherman in Teluk Lande Waters, South Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra). Head of Basarnas Kendari Muhammad Arafah said the fisherman named Ali Abura (17), who is a resident of Windu Makmur Village, Sampolawa District, South Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. "Ali Bura, a resident of Windu Makmur Village, South Buton," said Arafah as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 20. He revealed the disappearance of the victim was first informed by the Village Secretary Windu Makmur, who reported one person who had not returned from the sea around Teluk Lande Waters, on Thursday at around 19.38 WITA. "Mr. Jamaludin, Secretary of Windu Makmur Village who informed KPP (Kantor Search and Rescue) Kendari," he said. Based on the report, continued Arafah, his party dispatched a Rescue Team Pos SAR Baubau to the scene using a rubber boat to provide SAR assistance. "The distance to the reported location with the Baubau SAR Post is about 22 nautical miles," he said. He mentioned that in the process of searching for victims, Baubau SAR Post Rescue Team used several equipment, namely rubber boats, aqua eye, and other safety support equipment. He revealed that the disappearance of Ali Bura began when the victim went to search for fish in the middle using a canoe around the waters of Teluk Lande, South Buton, on Wednesday at around 15.00 WITA.

"In the search conducted by the family, a fishing rod was found belonging to the victim in the sea, while the canoe used by the victim was found in a mangrove tree around the beach," he said.
