Mass Supporters Of Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Rest In Green Grass Of Suropati Park, But The Garbage Is Not Cleared

JAKARTA - The Green Open Space Function (RTH) of Suropati Park in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, as a green environmental conservation site, has now changed in an instant on Thursday, October 19, noon.

The park, which is actually clean from dirt and garbage, has now changed to be filled with food waste that is scattered on the grass of Taman Suropati. A number of boxes of used food were thrown away by sympathizers of the presidential candidate pair (Capres).

In fact, at several points in the Suropati Park area, there are a number of waste disposal sites. However, they are reluctant to dispose of garbage in the proper place.

"There was this event, instead it was not orderly. When they finished eating, throw the garbage away arbitrarily. The garbage was even left in the Taman area. It only damaged the beautiful Suropati Park area," said Ratna (28) one of the visitors to Taman Suropati to VOI.

Ratna is busy as an employee in the Menteng area, indeed often takes the time to stop by the Suropati Park to do her job on a laptop. According to him, Suropati Park is always clean.

"But today there are no cleaners from the Parks as well. Today a lot of garbage is scattered. There are also many dry leaves scattered, not being swept away," he said.

In addition, sympathizers of Ganjar-Mahfud presidential and vice presidential candidates also often occupy their homes in the park area. Several plants were also heavily damaged which were trampled on.

"Just look at it, even though there are park benches. They even hold banners on the grass for sitting and sleeping," he added.

From VOI's observation, it was not seen that there were officers from the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-dept. who were tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of the park at the registration moment of the two presidential and vice presidential candidates. Officers such as allowing public facilities to be damaged without any verbal warning at the location.
