Police Defendant Of Embezzlement Of Rp3.7 Billion Primkoppol Fund Sentenced To 4.5 Years In Prison

The panel of judges at the Medan District Court sentenced Police AKP Hapis Paisal Lubis to 4.5 years in prison in the case of embezzlement of the Primary Fund for the Police Cooperative (Primkoppol) of the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Unit worth Rp3.7 billion.

"Imposing a sentence of 4.5 years in prison to Hapis Paisal Lubis," said Chief Judge Lucas Sahabat Duha at the Medan District Court as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

Dari fakta persidangan, terdakwa diyakini bersahh melanggar Pasal 374 KHUPidana tentang penggelapan dalam jabatan.

"The aggravating thing was that the defendant embezzled the cooperative funds, while the mitigating thing was that the defendant regretted and admitted his actions, and was never punished," he said.

This decision is lighter than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Sumut) Felix Frianta Ginting for five years.

In the indictment, it was revealed that AKP Hapis Paesal Lubis submitted a bank account with a bank stamp logo with a value of Rp. 4 billion.

The defendant collaborated with a third party to use the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Primkoppol cash without the approval of members or supervisors, including cooperation with convection parties worth Rp1.8 billion.

In addition, cooperation with a person named Heri for inheritance land management capital in Sukapeace Village, Polonia Medan, is worth IDR 210 million, then cooperation with Darmansyah Sitepu is worth IDR 240 million.

Then the cooperation with Arifin as the land administrator in Marelan was worth Rp250 million and the defendant also invested in fish livestock worth Rp120 million.

The auditor found that the losses suffered by the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Primkoppol were due to the actions committed by the defendant from 2019 to 2022 amounting to Rp3.7 billion.
