The Murder Case Of Rumdin Walkot, Former Mayor Of Blitar Samanhudi Was Sentenced To 2 Years In Prison
The panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court sentenced the defendant Samanhudi, who is also the former Mayor of Blitar, to two years in prison for the robbery of the Blitar Mayor's official residence.
Chairman of the Panel of Judges, Abu Achmad Sidqi Amsya, said that the aggravating thing was that the defendant had been convicted in another case. Meanwhile, things that relieve the defendant were polite and cooperative during the trial.
"Sentenced the defendant to two years in prison," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.
The judge assessed that the defendant was proven to have violated Article 365 paragraph (2) 1, 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 2nd Criminal Code concerning criminal acts with violence.
"Declaring that the defendant M Samanhudi Anwar has been legally and convincingly proven guilty and committed a crime intentionally recommending violent theft as in the primary indictment," he said.
After hearing the judge's decision, Samanhudi then stated that he would take an appeal. "Your noble pairing," said Samanhudi.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor (JPU), Syarir Sagir, said that his party would think about it. Because the verdict is lighter than his demands. "We think about it, Your Honor," said the prosecutor.
The verdict against Samanhudi is lighter than the prosecutor's demand, which is five years in prison.

This case began when Samanhudi and the inmates were in Sragen Prison in August 2020. At that time, the defendant met the accused robbers, Hermawan.
Hermawan introduced himself to Sragen Prison for theft and robbery. Meanwhile, Samanhud introduced himself as the former Mayor of Blitar for two terms. Samanhudi also said that he was languishing in Sragen Prison because of a corruption case.
At the next meeting that was still taking place in Sragen Prison, the defendant began planning a robbery at the Blitar Mayor Santoso's official residence.
At the time of the robbery on December 12, 2022, Mayor Blitar Santoso was also threatened with raping his wife if he was not willing to show a safe containing money and some jewelry.
