Palestinian Ambassador Asks International Community To Check Field Situation

JAKARTA - Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al-Shun asked the international community to review field conditions in Palestine over the war situation faced with Israel.

"We need the international community to go there and see what happens," said the Palestinian Ambassador after a coordination meeting with the Chairman of the House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) Fadli Zon at the House of Representatives building.

As part of the international community, Ambassador Zuhair Al-Shun also asked Indonesia, which has been providing support for Palestine, to participate in providing assistance so that Israel stops its aggression.

"So now our President and our authorities, our diplomacy is going around the world to stop this, and we ask Indonesia to also follow and make the same efforts. Indonesia's commitment to how to stop the aggression," he said.

He also hopes the international community can help overcome the war between Palestinians-Israel, as global attention is given to the war between Russia and Ukraine.

"Hopefully the international community can overcome our problems, as is the case in other parts of the world, such as Ukraine. Look at Europe, what they are doing against Russia, America (also), but why not Palestine? Why don't you try to do something to solve this problem. Talk about solutions," he said.

He then explained the situation on the ground that occurred in the current Israeli attack targeting all elements of society, both children and the elderly, and regardless of the function of the building.

"The situation that we have discussed in the field, is very difficult. It's not easy. Killing civilians in Gaza's territory, especially in Gaza, more than 800 people have now been killed by Israeli bombs," he added.

No exception, he continued, Indonesian hospitals in the Gaza Strip were also affected by Israeli attacks, resulting in the death of one Indonesian citizen (WNI).

"Even your hospital, your hospital in Gaza, Indonesian hospital has been destroyed, one Indonesian citizen was killed," he said.

According to him, the current situation was originally a daily situation that had been faced by Palestine, which did not provide an opportunity to create a decent life like other global people.

"If anyone asks why, why is it happening right now, everyone knows that this Israeli aggression is not the first time, (this is) daily activity in Jerusalem, and all cities in the West Bank," he said.

Finally, he also emphasized that Palestine will continue to fight for its territorial sovereignty over Israel.

"We will continue to fight and fight until we are free and free. Jerusalem is our capital," he said.
