Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Calls A Number Of PSN Energi Will Be Completed In The Near Future

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif has established that a number of National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the energy sector will start operating in the near future.

The PSN includes the construction of a Tough Natural Gas (LNG) Train III in Bintuni Bay, West Papua Province and a floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in the Cirata Reservoir, Purwakarta, West Java.

"What wants to be inaugurated is Tangguh 3 LNG later in November, it will be produced," Arifin told the media quoted on Friday, October 6.

The LNG Tangguh project is a LNG production and sale project that has been realized in the form of joint ventures between British Petroleum as operator, Indonesian government, contractor, and, especially the local people of West Papua. This project produces LNG from the Wiriagar, Berau, and Muturi gas fields, in Bintuni Bay, West Papua with an area of 5,966.9 km2.

The average production of natural gas for Tangguh Fields in 2021 is 1,312 MMSCFD, and the status as of June 14, 2022 is 1,162 MMSCFD.

LNG production began in June 2009, and the first LNG cargo was delivered in July 2009. The LNG Tangguh project produces 7.6 million tons of LNG each year through Train 1 and 2.

In addition, the Cirata PLTS will also be confirmed to start operating at the end of October. The Cirata Floating PLTS, which currently has a capacity of 192 megawatt peak (MWp), was built with an investment value of IDR 1.7 trillion. This is a project that will support the realization of Net Zero Emission in 2060.

"Also the Cirata Floating PLTS at the end of this month has been completed," added Arifi briefly.

PLTS, which occupies an area of 200 hectares (ha), will generate 245 million kWh of energy per year and can supply equivalent electricity for 50,000 households.
