Forgetting To Turn Off The Stove After Cooking, Residents' Houses In Pulogadung Burnt

JAKARTA - A house on Jalan Layur Selatan, RT 16/07, Jati Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, was scorched on Wednesday, October 4, evening. The fire was caused by a stove explosion.

"Only one house caught fire. The cause of the fire was due to the stove which allegedly forgot to be turned off when it finished cooking," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, to VOI, Wednesday, October 4.

Luckily, thanks to the alertness of the officers who immediately extinguished the fire, the flames were successfully extinguished at around 19:00 WIB.

"The fire only burned the kitchen. The house belongs to Mr. Warto, with a burned area of only 4 meters. The loss was only Rp. 500 thousand," he said.

The process of extinguishing the fire was carried out by 6 fire engines with 24 personnel.

"The fire suppression was also assisted by local residents. There were no casualties or injuries," he said.
