Open Chery To Present More Omoda 5 Variants In The Future
Chery has launched the Omoda 5 GT as a high-performance SUV. With the presence of this model, this complements the ranks of variants in this series family.
Different from the competing manufacturers that gave birth to the latest model, the Chinese company actually increased the Omoda 5 variant, which consists of four types, namely Z, RZ, GT, and EV.
Harry Komara, as Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), explained that the Omoda 5 model is currently booming in the global automotive industry, so the company hopes for this SUV as the backbone.
"This Omoda 5 product has become the backbone of Chery. This car is complete and the price is also affordable," said Komara answering a question from VOI, Jum'at, September 29.
Although this product is a mainstay for Chery in the automotive industry, the manufacturer is still unable to confirm to add a variant in this series. However, Komara said it was open in presenting more Omoda 5 variants in the future.
"If we look at the future, the product consists of all numbers. But, of course Omoda 5 is currently the 'One Family Group', starting from variant Z to EV," added Komara.
Different from other variants, Omoda 5 GT has a higher performance with a different design. The SUV was given a 1.6 liter turbo TGDI engine capable of producing 197 dk of power and a 290 Nm torque combined with a Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) system of seven accelerations.
PT CSI will soon sell this SUV at a price starting at IDR 448.8 million for the FWD variant and IDR 488.8 million for the AWD variant. Orders have been opened since the launch a day ago.
