JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) stated that the realization of the 2023 State Budget to support next year's election preparations is already IDR 14 trillion.

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said the absorption was a recapitulation until August 2023.

"The amount is equivalent to 46.7 percent of this year's ceiling of Rp. 30 trillion," he said at the State Budget press conference, quoted on Friday, September 29.

Sri Mulyani explained that the realization of the election budget was channeled through two main channels, the first was through KPU and Bawaslu, and the second was through ministries/agencies.

In detail, the KPU and Bawaslu absorbed Rp12.6 trillion (from the Rp23.8 trillion ceiling) which was optimized for the formation of the Adhoc Board, the determination of the number of seats and the determination of the electoral district.

Then, supervision of election implementation, updating of data, as well as management, procurement, reports, logistics and election documentation.

"Meanwhile, which goes through ministries/others is IDR 6.2 trillion from the ceiling of IDR 6.2 trillion," he said.

The budget absorption is channeled to protect the election, supervise the election implementation funds, handle violations of the code of ethics, dissemination of information, socialization, and coverage of elections, as well as legal technical guidance (bimtek).
