Keith Richards: Pop Music Is Always Waste

JAKARTA - Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones said he believed that pop music was always trash, and that's the point.

The legendary guitarist spoke to The Telegraph about his career, his musical condition, and his band's comeback album Hackney Diamonds.

"I don't want to complain about pop music," said Richards. It's always been trash. I mean, that's the point.

"They make it as cheap and as easy as possible and therefore it sounds the same always; there's only a few feelings in it," he added.

"I love listening to music from people who play musical instruments."

Giving his views on rap music, he continued: 'I don't really like hearing people shout at me and say it's music, AKA rap.'
