Chery Launches Tiggo 7 Pro In Australia, Ready To Shake Famous SUV Domination

Chery continues to campaign for its expansion in the global market and recently launched its products in Australia. The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro has arrived at the Australian market, becoming the second model introduced by producers from China after Omoda 5 in March in the Land of Kangaroo. This is different from the Indonesian market which already introduced the Tiggo 7 Pro.

Launching Drive Wednesday, September 20, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro will be a direct competitor for Nissan Qashqai, Haval Jolion, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Mazda CX-5 in Australia.

Posited as a medium-sized SUV, the car has a length dimension of 4,513 mm, a width of 1,862 mm, a height of 1,696 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. The Tiggo 7 Pro also offers a baggage capacity of up to 626 liters when the back seat is in an upright position.

The cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen that can connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seat wrapped in synthetic skin, panoramic sunscreen, and wireless charging for handheld devices.

Various advanced technologies have also been integrated into this car, including Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Chery also pays attention to the security aspect by providing eight airbags to protect passengers in an accident situation.

All Tiggo 7 Pro variants are equipped with 1.6 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engines which produce 183 dk of power and 275 Nm of torque. This car uses a four-wheel drive system with a dual-clutch seven acceleration transmission.

The machines offered in the Australian market have slightly lower performance than those available in China. In China, the Tiggo 7 Pro has an engine that produces 197 dk of power and 290 Nm of torque.

Chery provides three variants of the Tiggo 7 Pro model at different prices. The cheapest variant, Urban FWD, is sold at a price starting at 39,990 Australian dollars or around Rp395.9 million. While the highest variant, Pro Ultimate AWD, is priced at 45,990 Australian dollars or equivalent to Rp455.2 million. The SUV is scheduled to be available on the dealers in October or November 2023.

The price of the Tiggo 7 Pro in Australia is higher than the one offered in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the Tiggo 7 Pro is sold at prices ranging from IDR 368.5 million for the lowest variant and reached IDR 428.5 million for the highest variant.
